Why this site.

An off-grid peri-urban community of ~220 households where the national grid extension was promised in 2014 and never arrived. The nearest 33 kV line ends three kilometres short.

Common Watt was approached by the community council. The site is regulatorily clean (SERC Cross River established 2025) and the load profile is balanced between residential and small commercial.
