Why this site.
A peri-urban residential estate in Ogun State, ~190 households and 12 small commercial loads, two hours from Lagos. Payment density is high and the state's SERC was the first to stand up under the Electricity Act 2023.
The community is currently served by an unreliable national feeder (4–7 hours of power per day) supplemented by household petrol generators. A solar mini-grid replacing both will halve the per-kWh cost and remove generator fumes from the estate.
The build.
- · 300 kWp solar PV array on a 0.4-hectare leased site
- · 750 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery (BYD or comparable)
- · Three-phase Victron / SMA inverter stack, redundant
- · Smart prepaid meters at every connection (Steamaco / SparkMeter)
- · 3.2 km of low-voltage distribution to households and commercial loads
Tariff structure.
| Residential | ₦2,500–₦8,000 / month |
| Commercial | ₦22,000–₦60,000 / month |
| Productive use | ₦85,000+ / month |
